About the Team
The team provides a dedicated investment consultancy to investors across industrial, offices, retail and alternative markets, advising on acquisition and disposal. The team is passionate about providing our clients with creative but practical solutions and options, working to create long-term, enduring relationships which will generate added value for our clients. The Capital Markets team are dynamic and have a well-established presence in the North West and National Investment Market. The team have advised on a number of the largest and highest profile transactions over the past decade, working across several sectors with a focus on industrial and office asset classes. The North West team is fully integrated with the Gerald Eve National Capital Markets business.

An exciting opportunity has arised for a motivated and enthusiastic Surveyor to work alongside the team to further enhance the firm’s leading position within the commercial property market. The candidate will have the opportunity to work with a diverse client base across the North of England and be involved in market leading projects.

Main responsibilities
• Completing detailed financial analysis
• Undertaking extensive property due diligence in support of investment acquisition and disposal instructions
• Compiling availability and transaction schedules to track market activity
• Market research and maintaining comparable databases
• Managing and assisting in the relationship with key clients, inclusive of providing clear and concise reports and advice
• Tracking key investment requirements

About you
• MRICS qualified; registered valuer also preferable
• Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications and relevant IT-based systems, including a high level of competence in Excel.
• Excellent report writing skills are imperative to deliver clear and concise advice
• Some knowledge of Discounted Cash Flow valuations is an advantage
• Strong analytical skills including problem solving and an inquistive mind
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with an eye for detail and first-rate report writing ability
• Personable individual with a commitment to excellence and developing strong client relationships.
• Knowledge of Argus Developer is an advantage
• High level of organisational skills required to enable competing workstreams to be completed on time, taking into account high pressure deadlines.
• A degree of flexibility in order to move from one task to another without a loss of productivity
• Willingness to travel throughout UK
• The ability to adapt to changes initiated by the department or the client.
• Perseverance and stamina with a drive for results in order to maintain momentum and complete the task.

Working hours
The normal hours of work for this position are 0900hrs to 1730hrs, Monday to Friday. This position also involves out of hours working on an ‘as necessary’ basis. The Firm’s core hours are from 10.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. and you may choose to start and end your day around these hours, provided you still do your 7.25 hours per day (e.g. 8.00 am – 4.30pm, 10.00 am – 6.30 pm). There is no requirement for this to be the same each day, but you are required to keep your manager informed. We are open to considering flexible working arrangements for everyone; this can be discussed during the application process or upon commencement.
