About The Team:
Gerald Eve’s team of marketing and business development professionals provide full marketing mix and business development advice and support across all areas of Gerald Eve’s business. From branding and marketing communications, through to winning better business, managing our key client relationships and sector-specific cross-discipline groups. The team is highly respected and integrated within business teams and sector groups.
About The Role:
Gerald Eve has ambitious growth plans to expand nationally and across Europe. Central to our business strategy is to raise the profile of our network of seven national offices, whilst facilitating business development activities, including pitching for work, cross-selling and key client programmes. We are looking for a talented all-round business development professional, located in either Birmingham, Leeds or Manchester as the main hub office, to co-ordinate BD activities, raise the profile of Gerald Eve nationally and to deliver growth through our winning better business and key client programmes. This role will include regular travel to our national office network and working closely with Heads of Office and the wider national teams.
This is an incredible opportunity for an ambitious BD professional, to make your mark on the next stage of Gerald Eve’s national expansion, as our first National BD Manager / Senior Exec. You will be supported by a central marketing team across the full marketing mix, graphics, digital marketing, PR and communications and will join our BD Manager growth team, reporting to the Senior Manager and Director of Marketing & BD. You will work closely with our National Heads to drive BD across our network of regional office locations.
Main Responsibilities:
National Office Marketing Communications/Profile:
•National office BD & marketing plans - working with all National Office Heads, but with a focus on Birmingham, Cardiff, Glasgow, Leeds and Manchester offices, to create office plans to raise the profile of Gerald Eve within the local/regional business community and support specific service line offerings. This will include press releases, speaker slots, industry events, sponsorship opportunities, professional networking and office specific collateral.
•Oversee marketing budgets for each office – work alongside the National Office Heads to produce and oversee annual marketing budgets for individual offices and liaising with the central team.
•Organise and co-ordinate events – create campaigns across national offices, pulling on resource from the central marketing team and local office administration support.
•Liaise with the in-house PR/Press office - manage media relations, press releases and localised profile-raising activities, including social media.
Winning Better Business:
•Working closely with BD colleagues – represent the national offices in sector/service line BD meetings and own and facilitate follow up BD actions relating to national offices. This will include leading on cross-selling and pitching for work opportunities, with help and support from the central bids team and financial analysts.
•Act as a key point of contact on all BD requests for national offices – triage support from across the central marketing team.
•Helping to onboard lateral hires joining national offices – as part of our growth plans we are in the process of recruiting senior industry professionals and you will be require to identify opportunities to manage ongoing client relationships and share contacts with incoming recruits.
•Training/sharing best practice for BD – acting as an ambassador for the BD and marketing team in national offices and coaching teams in the national business in their approach to winning new work.
•Liaise on Newmark business opportunities – as necessary, work with the Newmark growth team both in Europe and the US to support BD and marketing activities.
Key Client Programme:
•Join national key client teams - to identify opportunities to build relationships and deliver growth across the national office teams.
•Identify a small portfolio of key clients for each office - to feed into Engage our key client programme and manage these effectively locally.
About You:
•Ability to influence and communicate at partner level
•Experience of working across multiple offices, with the ability to travel for meetings
•Degree educated, with business development experience in professional services and/or advisory businesses
•Can do attitude, with the ability to multi-task and provide order and structure
•Strategic thinker, whilst delivering at a tactical level
•Good understanding of marketing & BD planning, setting budgets and measuring ROI
•Exposure to the bids process and client presentations
•Real estate sector experience
•Coaching and training skills
